A good pair of wireless headphones are such a joy to use. No messy cables, the freedom to move around and great sound. We all love them. But which one’s are the best?
In people’s quest to find the right wireless headphones, some obvious questions come up. Do they lose signal? What about sound quality? Etc. I will try my best to outline the criteria you should use to judge a pair of wireless headphones correctly. No one wants to waste their time and money buying a pair of junky headphones that you’ll end up hating.
The first thing to check is the transmitter strength. You’ve got to make sure that you won’t be getting annoying dropouts or noisy bursts during a TV show or your favourite CD. Nothing is more frustrating but it’s easily avoided too with a bit of research. Another plus about this is that it allows you to walk around quite far like to the bathroom or even into the garden and still enjoy listening. This is especially great for music. A great example of this is the Sennheiser RS120 headphones I promote here. They have excellent signal strength and allow you to walk all over a big property and still get great sound.
Another vital feature is isolation. You don’t want too much extraneous noise entering your ears while trying to enjoy your media. Check the dB rating under the technical specs. The higher the dB isolation rating the better. This means less sound will enter through the headphones ear cups and interfere with your sound. That annoying car alarm or dog barking won’t disturb you any longer. This also allows you to listen at lower volumes (saving your ears) by not having to compete with so much other sound.
Never underestimate comfort. This is super important if you’re going to use them for hours on end so put them on. Are they tight around your head? Do they give you headaches? Are the cups too hard and hurt your ears? You will never know if you don’t try them out first.
And lastly, do they look cool? To me, the look of a product is really important so I make sure I like the way it looks. You may not feel the same way however and that’s fine too.
I hope this narrows down your search a lot more. Happy shopping!
